dsh-codex-subscription
Log in with your ChatGPT Plus/Pro subscription to use Codex and GPT-6 models, web search and image generation in DSH — no OpenAI API key.
Install
dsh plugin --profile web add github:WSL043/dsh-codex-subscription Screenshots 5
What it solves
- You already pay for ChatGPT Plus / Pro and want to reuse that subscription inside DeepSeek Harness instead of buying and maintaining a separate OpenAI API key.
- It collapses “subscription sign-in → pick model → set effort → check quota” into DSH itself, so you do not need the Codex CLI installed or a second tool in the loop.
- It keeps chat, web search, image generation/editing, and sketching (hand-drawn or agent-drawn with
@sketch) in one workflow.
Who it’s for
- Users with a ChatGPT Plus / Pro account that currently has Codex access.
- Developers who live in DSH (web, CLI, or the official desktop app) and want models, quota, image generation and sketching managed in one place.
- Power users who need multi-account switching, quota-threshold alerts, isolated subtasks and cloud context compaction.
Highlights
Models and search
- Subscription sign-in: log in with your ChatGPT account, no API key required.
- Model catalog sync: reads the models and reasoning tiers available to your account, with manual refresh; models come only from the account catalog — nothing is shown when logged out.
- Switch model, reasoning effort, speed tier (Standard / Fast / Ultrafast Beta), answer verbosity and input image detail directly from the composer.
- Web search routing (Auto / DSH / Codex), live or cached search, search off, or domain-restricted search.
- Configurable stream-inactivity timeout (10 minutes by default) and context budget (standard / extended / custom).
Accounts and quota
- Add, switch, remove accounts or sign out of all of them.
- Short-window and weekly quota, reset times, separate quota groups, plus credits, spend limits and reset cards when the server returns them.
- In-composer quota display (percentage or progress bar), threshold reminders, runtime estimate (Beta), manual reset-card use and retry-after-reset.
Images and sketching
- Image generation and reference-image editing (Beta, on by default), including transparent-background PNG output.
- Built-in viewer: zoom, pan, fit-to-window and download the verified original; region annotation feeds back into a follow-up edit.
- Sketch canvas (Beta, off by default): aspect-ratio presets, pen/pencil/highlighter/eraser, shapes and text, layers with image import, stroke smoothing, undo/redo, up to 20 local drafts, PNG export and draft-file round-trip.
- Agent drawing: ask the agent to draw with
@sketch; it can produce whole drawings as SVG and import them as editable native strokes.
Advanced and maintenance
- Codex isolated subtasks (Beta) and subtask component management.
- Cloud context compaction and WebSocket transport (both experimental, off / SSE by default).
- Auto review via the Codex review model (Beta, off by default).
- Support diagnostics (a ~1 KB trimmed report that excludes credentials and conversation content) and quota-prediction cache cleanup.
Installation
- Open Plugins → Add plugin in DSH.
- Enter the versioned package name, e.g.
dsh-codex-subscription@2.5.7(the plugin page only installs versions published at least 24 hours ago; pinning avoids an incompatible older build). - Install and restart DSH when prompted.
- Open Settings → Codex Subscription, sign in to ChatGPT, then pick a Codex model in your session.
CLI alternative: dsh plugin --profile web add dsh-codex-subscription. For headless tasks, sign in and select a Codex model once in the web UI first, then install the same plugin into the headless profile.
Caveats
- Verified against DSH
0.2.0-rc.2(next) and0.1.7-rc.2(latest); it targets the latest DSH recorded in the package metadata. - Image generation, reference-image editing, the sketch canvas, agent drawing, isolated subtasks and cloud compaction are marked Beta / experimental and are partly off by default.
- Model availability, quota windows and quota groups come from the account’s server response; no models are listed when you are signed out or the catalog read fails.
- The plugin signs into a third-party client with your subscription — confirm this fits your account’s terms of service. Failed subscription requests surface an explicit error instead of silently falling back to another paid route.
