Fylar Office Editor for DSH

Turn Office files produced by an agent into documents you can open, review, edit, and download without ever leaving DeepSeek Harness.

What it solves

When an agent produces a document you usually just get a file path: opening it means switching to a desktop Office suite or a server-side conversion service, and getting your edits back means moving files around manually. This plugin pulls the whole loop into DSH:

• Office files in the conversation — a delivery card appears in the assistant turn; open it inline, move the same session to the side panel, or go fullscreen.
• Real DOCX generation — the built-in office_create_docx tool converts Markdown headings, paragraphs, lists, simple tables, code blocks, bold, italic, and inline code into an OOXML Word document and writes it into the active DSH workspace.
• Word, Excel, and PowerPoint editing — open existing DOC, DOCX, XLS, XLSX, and PPTX files in the workspace (including ones produced by Python or shell commands), or create blank documents from the Office tab.
• One persistent editing session — switching between Chat, the Office tab, the side panel, and fullscreen does not reopen the document.
• Export instead of silent overwrite — browser edits stay in the SDK session; the original workspace file is never rewritten while you type, and you explicitly download the edited document.
• Workspace-confined file access — the Host only serves supported files from registered DSH workspace roots and blocks traversal and symlink escapes.

Getting started

Refresh an already open DSH page after the Web process restarts, then ask in a workspace-write session, for example:

Turn this conversation into a Word project summary and save it as reports/project-summary.docx.
Create an XLSX comparison table in the workspace, then open it for preview.
Open the existing slides/company-introduction.pptx in the Office editor.

You normally do not need to name the tools; DSH selects them from your request and the plugin’s model guidance. There are two delivery paths: office_create_docx generates and writes a real DOCX, while office_present_file validates and publishes an existing workspace Office file without modifying it.

PDF export requires localhost or HTTPS, browser support for window.queryLocalFonts, and granted local-font access; otherwise the action is disabled with an explanation. PowerPoint PDF export is not available yet.

Things to know

• The plugin is powered by the proprietary commercial Fylar Office SDK: files are parsed, rendered, edited, and exported 100% client-side and are not uploaded for cloud document processing, but the SDK may contact the Fylar licensing service to validate credentials and meter usage. Each License Credential includes an aggregate Free Allowance of up to 3,000 Metered Uses; continued use requires a paid entitlement. See vendor/office-sdk/legal.txt for the controlling terms.
• The repository currently declares no License field — confirm licensing terms before commercial use or redistribution.
• XLSX and PPTX content must currently be created by another agent tool or script; this plugin validates and presents the result. DOCX can be generated directly by the built-in tool.
• Browser edits do not automatically overwrite the workspace file — use Export to keep the edited document. Closing or replacing the document ends the editing session, and refreshing with possible unsaved edits triggers a browser warning.
